Data Security & Privacy FAQ
Is the data secure and HIPAA compliant?
Yes. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit, ensuring HIPAA compliance.
(more)Do you have access or store my recordings?
No. Transcription is done in real-time securely on your local devices. No recordings are created or stored. The system does not retain audio recordings or verbatim transcripts of any session. Instead, it generates and stores abstracted word clusters, which serve solely as internal data structures to enable the language model to create summary notes. These clusters are not human-readable and cannot be used to reconstruct detailed dialogue, speaker identity, or the sequence of statements. They provide only generalized thematic information. It is up to the clinician to review the relevancy of the generated content. The source of truth should not be Simcha, but the record system for billing.
(more)What happens when I delete a file?
When a clinician deletes a file, it is fully and permanently removed from our system. This ensures you have complete control over your data.
(more)Do you use my data for training?
No. We don't use your data for training purposes. However, you can provide synthetic data to fine-tune your personal AI models if desired.
(more)How long do you keep my data?
The data is stored on your local device. You can delete it at anytime.
(more)How does on-device AI benefit the environment?
Our on-device AI processing significantly reduces carbon footprint and energy demand compared to typical cloud-based AI systems. By processing data locally on your device, we eliminate the need for energy-intensive data center operations and network transmissions. This approach not only ensures privacy but also contributes to a more sustainable future by consuming less energy and reducing environmental impact.
(more)Do you sell or share my information with third parties?
No. We do not sell your information to third parties. We use third-party cloud service providers with signed Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) for authentication and EHR integrations.
